Summary
The first thing that you’ll notice about the JazzMaster Maestro is the extra weight, but it’s not hard to get used to. Some prefer the weight as a clear sign of quality. The Swiss Valjoux 7750 movement is reliable and superbly accurate. It’s known to be a workhorse and the timing is impeccable thanks the 7750 being entry-level automatic to the high-end scale of watches. At its worst, your watch will only run5 seconds fast through the course of a day. Keep your watch wound, and you’ll always have spot-on timing.
Outstanding Readability
A smooth black backing creates the perfect contrast for telling time at a glance. There are silver raised hour markers which glimmer clearly thanks to the highly polished surface. Three sub circles make up your chronograph, with the one of the left indicating seconds.
The other two indicate hours and minutes. The first circle has a red track over the final fifteen minutes which can be easy to overlook unless you stand back and look at the color of its accent. Thin silver hands make a great match to the polished minute markers and numerals.
A Great Dress Watch
Hamilton has produced the ideal dress watch. The clear yet bold design works exceptionally well with a range of different watch straps. A metal stainless steel bracelet pairs exceptionally but adds a little weight. The lift in looks is well worth it although the standard leather band is almost as pleasing. Water resistance is decent at 330 ft., and there is very little you can criticize about this affordable dress watch. The Hamilton JazzMaster is a classy watch with a better movement than most any other automatic watch under $2,000.
